Overview
The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) is a modernization of cosmetics regulations that requires manufacturers, packaging, and distributors to register with the FDA for cosmetics sold to consumers in the United States. Through this, the FDA will be supervised, such as OTCs, such as access to and recall cosmetics imported into the United States.
Registration is divided into facility registration and product registration
Facility Registration: Cosmetic manufacturers and processors register their facilities with the FDA, update their content within 60 days of changes occurring, and renew their registration every two years
Product Listing: Each cosmetic sold, including product ingredients, is registered with the FDA and updated annually
