If you apply for KS certification to a self-certification institution that produces products or processing technology that conform to Korean Industrial Standards, the certification institution and designated review institution examine the technical production conditions necessary for quality assurance. Then, if the quality of the product is tested by an accredited testing institution and it passes the relevant Korean industrial standard level or higher, the certification body issues a KS mark certificate after deliberation by the certification committee.

The preferential purchase system for KS products is a system that allows national organizations, local governments, government-invested organizations, and public organizations to give KS products preference when purchasing goods. In other words, it is a system that promotes the standardization of the mining and manufacturing industries, and the rational use of goods by legally requiring only KS products to be used.
