Overview

IECEx logo

  • As an IEC Conformity Assessment System, the IECEx System is an autonomous certification system that maintains an appropriate safety level of electrical equipment used in an explosive environment and prevents duplicate certification between countries.
  • The ICEEx zone is also used in terms such as Hazardous Locations, Hazardous Areas, Explosive Atmospheres, etc. In addition, it relates to a location where the amount of flammable liquid, vapor, gas or combustible dust is sufficient to cause a fire or explosion.
  • The purpose of the IECEx system is to maintain the required level of safety of equipment and services used in explosive atmospheres.
The IECEx System consists of the following:
  1. 1. IECEx Equipment Certification Scheme
  2. 2. IECEx Service Facility Certification Scheme
  3. 3. IECEx Mark of Conformity Licensing System
  4. 4. IECEx Individual Certification Scheme
